TORONTO MAGICIAN KAMERON MARSHALL STUNS AGT JUDGES
Toronto magician Kameron Marshall is one step closer to achieving his dream after earning four yeses from the judges on America’s Got Talent. His performance featured a card illusion that ended with the judges’ selected cards revealed through a tattoo on his arm, earning praise from the panel, with Sofia Vergara calling him her favourite act of the day.
Ahead of the next stage of the competition, The Alex Glikman Show conducted an exclusive interview with Marshall to discuss his AGT experience, the inspiration behind his signature illusion, and what representing Toronto means to him.
When asked what was going through his mind before stepping onto the stage, Marshall said the moment felt surreal.
“Right before I stepped on stage I was trying to slow down my breathing and stay in the moment as much as possible. I was a little bit nervous, but it was more of a surreal feeling, as I grew up watching the show and now I was about to be standing on the stage I’ve seen so many times.”
Marshall said one of the biggest highlights was hearing praise from judges Sofia Vergara and Mel B, despite both admitting they don’t usually enjoy magic acts.
“It was so cool, especially because both her and Mel B said they typically don’t like magic, but they both loved it. I feel the magic I do is very personal, so they not only witnessed it, they felt it.”
Marshall also shared the story behind the illusion that has become one of his signature performances.
“I got the tattoo because when you read it upside down it spells ‘love,’ but later I thought it’d be cool to turn it into a trick where people pick those cards. Over the years I’ve come up with many variations of the trick.”
Representing Toronto on one of television’s biggest stages is something Marshall says means a great deal to him.
“It means so much to me. The fact that I made it there is huge, and everyone in my city has been so supportive. I’m incredibly grateful for that.”
Marshall says the support he has received from Toronto and across Canada has made the experience even more meaningful as his journey on America’s Got Talent continues.
